Apprehension Spotlight :: 03/08/2009

In 2008 we had a total of 13 incidents in which suspects were arrested for break-ins; 10 of which were incidents in schools. We have seen an increase in break-ins in 2008, especially in the second half of the year. Many people are unaware that when the suspects are apprehended the cooperation between Sonitrol and your local police agency doesn't stop there!

Sonitrol has a great program called Partners Against Crime. Part of this program is dedicated to the recognition of police officers. Whenever an apprehension is made, the names of the officers and dispatchers involved in the incident are then forwarded to Sonitrol. Those people involved are then recognized by Sonitrol at an upcoming police briefing with a Certificate of Appreciation and token of our gratitude for each officer and dispatcher and even the K-9s involved get recognized with a treat! The Chiefs and commanding officers have found the program to be very positive for the officers since it is not often that officers receive recognition for the hard work they do to keep our communities safe. Sonitrol also makes a contribution to the police agency's Police Foundation or Police Officer's Association, in the names of the arresting officers. In 2008 Sonitrol contributed nearly $7,000 in donations to 8 law enforcement agencies in both Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties and recognized a total of 93 officers, 24 dispatchers... and 7 K-9s!
